A dental studio build for modern families
The Smile Society Dental Studio was designed with one mission in mind: to give kids—and their parents—a dental experience they actually enjoy. From the checkerboard floors and playful pendant lights to the popsicle freezer, everything about our practice is unexpected in the best way. Whether your child is visiting for a cleaning, a cavity, or something more complex, our care is always warm, unrushed, and built around what families need. Just compassionate and education-focused care in a space that actually feels good to be in.
Meet Dr. Kenjula Brown
Dr. Kenjula Brown (Dr. B) is the heart behind The Smile Society Dental Studio. A Jacksonville native, Dr. B grew up surrounded by dentistry—her mom, aunt, uncle, and godfather all worked in the field. After graduating from Florida State University, she earned her dental degree from The Ohio State University and began practicing in a variety of communities, including the Virgin Islands. These diverse experiences shaped not only her clinical skills but her deep belief that dentistry should be personal, inclusive, and flexible.
After returning home to Jacksonville, Dr. B realized it was time to create a practice that reflected who she really is—joyful, approachable, and committed to doing things differently. The Smile Society is the result: a space where modern families can find expert care without sacrificing comfort or fun.
Dr. B has a special interest in treating children, especially those who may feel anxious or need extra reassurance. She offers sedation through a local surgery center for patients who require it and is proud to create a space that welcomes children with a variety of needs. Her goal is always to make sure patients leave feeling seen, supported, and smiling bigger than before.
When she’s not in the office, you’ll find Dr. B gardening (snapdragons are her favorite), attending food festivals, spending time with her fur baby Renegade, or cheering on her college football team, the Florida State Seminoles. She’s a firm believer that laughter is good medicine—and she brings that energy into everything she does.

First Visits
From the moment you walk through the door, we want your family to feel at home. Your child’s first visit includes a gentle cleaning, a full exam, and plenty of time to ask questions. We keep things kid-friendly and flexible, focusing on comfort above all else—whether that means a ceiling TV distraction or a little extra encouragement.

Pie it Forward + The Smile Society
The Smile Society Dental Studio is proud to partner with Pie It Forward Florida, a community-driven initiative by Mixed Fillings Pie Shop that uses pie as a tool for connection, storytelling, and change. Through this partnership, every new patient at The Smile Society helps support Pie It Forward’s mission to fund programs like the Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation, which provides advocacy and resources for children in foster care. Together, we’re creating smiles inside and out while building a stronger, more compassionate Jacksonville, one slice at a time.
